iOS 7 update with home screen crash fix in works

While we haven’t necessarily experienced it ourselves, iPhones running iOS 7 have been reportedly crashing and rebooting, generating a black/white screen of death; according to reports, it is basically the splash screen which is either black on white, or vice versa, depending on the hardware color of the phone itself.

Talking about this with Mashable, Trudy Muller, an Apple spokesperson, said: “We have a fix in an upcoming software update for a bug that can occasionally cause a home screen crash“. The fix is expected to be part of iOS 7.1, which is currently in beta version — with its fourth beta iteration being available for developers — alongside other bug fixes, performance improvements, as well as “minor UI and design changes”.
