HTC One Android 4.4.2 update estimated for mid-February by French carrier

Those of you rocking the 2013 HTC flagship are still waiting for the official Android 4.4 KitKat update to grace their Android 4.3-powered phones. Back mid-December we’ve seen Android 4.4.2 roll out to the Google Play Edition HTC One, but there is no specific word on the update for “regular” versions of the phone.

An interesting bit of information comes from French carrier SFR. According to their blog post, the 4.4.2 refresh has been received on January 20 by the carrier for testing purposes. If all goes according to plan, SFR estimates the roll-out for the first half of February. While this information is definitely not valid for other carrier-branded HTC One phones (or unlocked units), it mights serve as an indication of a vague timeframe in which KitKat should land on the 2013 HTC flagship.
