Remember a month ago when we told you about the RAW photo support coming to Nokia Lumia phones? An update to Nokia Camera delivered compatibility with Digital Negative files, but there was a hitch: the handset needed the new Nokia Lumia Black update to function. That wasn’t an issue for the 1520, but the 1020, with its 41-megapxiel PureView sensor just aching to snap some RAW shots, still hadn’t seen Lumia Black become available. Thankfully, that’s now changing, as AT&T starts making the software available to its users.
AT&T appears to be first out of the gate with this release, and we haven’t yet heard similar tales of international distribution. Beyond the updated camera, users can look forward to Glance Screen updates, support for Bluetooth 4.0 LE, improved battery monitoring, and general bugfix/performance tweaks.
Additionally, the carrier is also making available a new update for Lumia 1520 owners, but this one sounds a whole lot less interesting: we’ve yet to learn of any new features baked-in, and instead it looks to be just a routine housekeeping update.
Be on the lookout for updates to both these phones arriving beginning today.
