Just a couple days back we turned to a database of imports and exports coming and going from India to grab some info on what looks to be an in-development 8.3-inch Nokia tablet. Today, the same database continues to tease us with signs of additional Nokia Lumia hardware, as we spot an entry for Nokia’s RM-964, described as a handset with a 5.2-inch display.
We’re expecting the 929 to be a 5-incher, and both the 1520 and 1320 have big 6-inch screens, but we haven’t seen any models falling in the middle there just yet. Being so close to the size of 929′s screen, we’ve heard the possibility that the RM-964 might be Nokia’s attempt at an international version of a handset based on the 929.
In any case, it certainly seems to be relatively high-end, with Nokia declaring a customs value of work works out to about $565 for each of the two RM-964 handsets it sent to India for testing. That’s right about what the Lumia 1520 runs, so we’re looking at quite the same level of hardware – Snapdragon 800, and probably a 1080p display.
It’s been seeming like the Lumia 929 is nearly ready to launch; we wonder if Nokia plans to introduce the RM-964 just as soon, or if we’ve still got a couple months to go before this guy ends up going official.
