Spotify is just one of the many ways to consume streaming music on your mobile (and not only), but, according to a recent Wall Street Journal report, the company is planning an ad-supported free service for mobile devices. It will be announced next week, claim anonymous sources who have spoken to TechCrunch about the matter.
Until now, those who wanted to enjoy streaming music on their mobile devices, provided by Spotify, had to pay a monthly fee of $10 (while computer users were able to enjoy free, ad-supported content — with the ability to remove ads for $5). According to WSJ’s sources, the Swedish company has managed to strike licensing deals with all three major music companies, with regards to the soon-to-be-launched service.
