Motorola’s Cyber Monday deal on the Moto X managed to overwhelm and break the company’s servers with many people trying to place an order; sadly, many didn’t go through. The company’s CEO posted an apology letter as well as a proposed solution for making it up to all those who wanted to get their hands on the current Motorola flagship.
The core issue was that Motorola “misjudged the overwhelming consumer demand for Moto X, which was far greater than we expected”. There were some other minor glitches but the CEO says they’ve been fixed. So, Motorola is redoing the promotion this Wednesday. “Starting at 12 pm EST/9 am PST this Wednesday, we will relaunch the $349 promotion”, said Dennis Woodside. In addition, there will be another promotional day on December 9.
Overall, Motorola will “double the quantity of phones available, while supplies last, to allow as many people as possible to take advantage of the promotion”. And, if that’s not enough, they’re “also extending the 30% off offer on accessories to these two days”.
