New CyanogenMod phone coming, new hardware partner teased

The Oppo N1 is a CyanogenMod-centric smartphone but what could come next? What you want from a CyanogenMod phone might be different from what we expect to see, but, in any case, hardware diversity coupled with CM’s exceptionally tuned bits is attractive, to say the least.

According to a recent Google+ post, Cyanogen Inc. does indeed have a new hardware partner. “We’re not quite ready to lift the veils”, says the official page, so we’re still left in the dark just a bit, though we should see official information in the “coming weeks”. And, since the phrasing clearly indicates a “new” hardware partner, speculation can begin on which OEM will grace CM next. Rumors already talk about names like HTC, Sony, or Huawei.

We’ll let you know more as soon as we find out, but, until then, let us know which OEM would you prefer building the next CM-centric phone.
