Last month, alongside the iPad Air announcement, Apple also announced the iPad mini with Retina Display. Unlike the original mini, this new model comes with practically all the same specs as its larger sibling: the A7, 1GB RAM, and, of course, the Retina Display.
This time around, instead of keeping the same pricing scale, Apple dropped the price of last year’s model by only $30 and bumped the base price of the current iPad mini lineup by $70, making the base price of the new iPad mini $399. Is this mini iPad worth the extra cash? Should you just splurge a bit to get the full-sized iPad Air?
We can’t answer those questions just yet. However, we will be putting this miniature iPad through its paces in the coming days, creating the usual list of in-depth comparisons and analysis, leading up to our full review.
Until then, enjoy this new iPad mini unboxing!
