The last time we heard about the HTC M8, the rumored upcoming follow-up to the HTC One and Butterfly, it was with the occasion of a rumor that it will run HTC’s Sense version 6. Now a couple of images have been leaked and they allegedly depict the back cover of the upcoming phone.
There’s a chance we’re not looking at a battery cover after all — which would be nice though, a la One Max — but at the shell of the upcoming phone. Either way, the design language appears to be the same, if the images are legit, in-line with the One, One Mini, and One Max. It apparently features the same aluminum build and there’s a cutout on the top of the camera, which will serve, according to speculation, for a fingerprint reader (the HTC One Max already has a scanner for prints below the camera).
For the moment, treat all of this with a fair dose of skepticism. This could, or could not be legit, or the M8 at all.
The same report claims that HTC might unveil the M8 with the occasion of the 2014 MWC in Barcelona, and that it will likely pack a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, 3GB of RAM, as well as the new version of Sense, 6.0, which we already heard in previous rumors.
