Android 4.4 KitKat is literally days old, so how can you get it on your Android-powered smartphone or tablets? Luckily, Google released the code into the Android Open Source Project (AOSP) and developers have been working non-stop to bring the latest goodness to otherwise unsupported devices.
Are you feeling a little daring and want to give KitKat a try on your device? If so, here’s what you’ll need to do:
0. Assume the risk
Doing this sort of thing could render your device useless — or awesome — but don’t continue unless you’re willing to assume the risk.
Next, you’ll need to be unlocked and running the latest version of Clockwork Mod Recovery.
Older versions of CWM won’t work, nor will TWRP. If you need to grab a copy of CWM, here you go: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1757146
2. Download your files
You’ll need GAPPS (available here) and the KitKat ROM for your device. Here are a few we put together for you, but if you’ve found more, don’t hesitate to share those links in the comments below!

Also, if you want to retain root, you’ll want to grab the flashable version of SuperSU as well
Put those files on your device, and you’re ready to get your hands dirty.
3. Boot into Recovery
Every device is different, so use whatever method your device uses to boot into Recovery Mode. Once there, backup your device (optional), then wipe it. Next, Install Zip from sdcard, navigate to wherever you put your files, then flash your ROM. Next, follow the same instructions to flash your GAPPS package, followed by SuperSU (optional).
Reboot your device, and after a lengthy boot, go ahead and set up Android 4.4 KitKat on your device! Enjoy!
