We’ll admit that even though the Xperia Z1f was a Japanese exclusive, we did like the concept we though we’d never get. What made this phone special, is that this would be one of the few phones in the market to sport all the same flagship specs of the Xperia Z1, but in a smaller chassis. Usually this never happens, as in the past if you wanted a phone with flagship specs, you simply had to accept this phone to be big.
As it turns out we’ve landed some leaks of the new Xperia Z1S, which seems to retain the same concept of the Xperia Z1f, only that for a broader market than just Japan. If everything holds true, you can expect the same hot specifications of the Xperia Z1 that we recently reviewed, only that you won’t have to be forced to handle it with two hands.
The report also mentions that we should expect this phone to be launched in Europe and the rest of Asia around this holiday season. Sadly there’s still no word if we’ll see this phone in the US, though judging by Sony’s new strategy of completely ignoring the US, this might just not be the case. We’ll see.
