October 22 is the rumored date for Apple’s next iPad event, and we’re yet to see an official invite going out, one week before the reported date, as of today. If the event happens, Apple is expected to unveil its next generation iPad tablets, both full-sized, and mini form-factors.
As far as the iPad mini 2 is concerned, some reports claim that the Retina Display, one of the downsides of the iPad mini (the lack of the Retina, to be specific), will not happen for the next iPad mini.
On the contrary, other reports are certain that the iPad mini 2 will indeed have a high-resolution screen, and claim that the shell of the tablet, because of such screen, will be somewhat thicker than its previous incarnation. The information is claimed to be a conclusion of a hands-on with a case, that is purportedly going to fit the next iPad mini, which is .2mm wider, at 7.5mm thickness (the current mini tablet is 7.2mm thin and 134.7 mm wide).
We’ll definitely know more in the upcoming days, as the leaks should become more specific, in case the event should happen, as rumored, on the 22nd — which is the date for the Nokia Abu Dhabi event also.
