ASUS has announced two budget tablets today, for its home market: the ASUS MeMO Pad 8 and MeMO Pad 10. The smaller among the two, the MeMO Pad 8, packs an eight-inch display with a resolution of 1280×800 pixels, is powered by a quad-core 1.6GHz processor helped by 1GB of RAM, 16GB of on-board storage, and features a five-megapixel main camera, and Android 4.2 Jelly Bean.
The larger MeMO Pad 10 has a ten-inch screen with the same resolution as its smaller sibling. The processor is also the same, and so is the amount of RAM. Internal storage options include 8 and 16GB flavors, and the camera on the back is a two-megapixel unit, paired with a 1.2MP webcam on the front. Android 4.2 Jelly Bean is the OS of choice here as well.
While there’s no wording on global/international availability, the tablets are expected to cost NT$ 7,990 ($272) for the eight incher and NT$ 8,990 ($306) for the larger version.
