The Sony Xperia Z1 flagship is getting a smaller version, however, only in Japan, for the moment. The new Sony Xperia Z1F has been reportedly announced at a DoCoMo event and is apparently packing all the internals of the Z1 in a smaller form factor.
We’re looking at a 4.3-inch 720p screen, underneath which you’ll find powerhouse internals: a 2.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage, 20.1MP camera — same as the one on the Z1 — NFC, wireless charging, as well as a 2,300mAh battery. Android 4.2.2 is the platform of choice and the available colors include black, white, yellow, and pink.
However, according to the report, Sony and DoCoMo are not planning on making the Z1F available before December. We’ll keep you posted in case we find out more about the phone, including a future possible global availability.
