There’s no denying that the S Pen from Galaxy Note models is a great little stylus, and between its hardware and the software Samsung makes available, it’s become a pretty useful tool. Watch any of Samsung’s videos extolling the S Pen’s virtues and you’re sure to see plenty of productivity-focused features: taking notes, annotating media – all that jazz. That’s all well and good, but lets be honest with ourselves; for as much time as we might want to spend note-taking, how often do we end up doodling in the margins instead? If you’ve been itching for a chance to stop repressing your artistic side and really use the S Pen to embrace it, Samsung might have just the thing for you, announcing availability of its Pen.Up app.
It all sounds great, and our only problem at the moment concerns that very limited compatibility; why shouldn’t Samsung make Pen.Up available for the original Galaxy Note, as well? What about the tablet-sized Notes? Surely they’d be even more useful for artistic expression, with their larger input surfaces.
In any case, it’s good news for Note II owners, at least. Let us know what you think in the comments if you manage to check out Pen.Up for yourself.
