Offline YouTube videos coming to mobile apps

Google has recently released a new version of its YouTube app for both iOS and Android — sorry Windows Phone users, you are still caught in between the two fighting grown-ups — which brought a lot of new features to the table, but, apparently, things are not going to stop any time soon.

In a recent blog post, the creators of YouTube are teasing an upcoming feature, to be rolled out “later this year”, which will allow users to watch videos offline. Describing the functionality, the blog post mentions the ability for users to “add videos to their device to watch for a short period when an Internet connection is unavailable”. Expect a feature launch in November.
