ASUS may have only launched the current PadFone Infinity back at the MWC in February, but it looks like it’s already time for a follow-up to roll in and take its place; we just saw invitations go out for an ASUS launch event set to take place next Tuesday. While this new PadFone Infinity will likely mirror the external design of the current edition, we’re expecting a number of internal improvements, like moving to a Snapdragon 800 for its SoC. Today we hear about another enhancement in store for the device, with a new rumor addressing its camera capabilities.
While the new PadFone would have a 13-megapixel main camera, just like the current version, this new one would supposedly offer a three-megapixel “enhanced sensitivity mode” that’s been described as “UltraPixel-like.” The net result sure sounds similar to the four-megapixel shots HTC is producing, but this actually comes off as a bit more PureView-y, like the oversampling done in the Lumia 1020.
In any case, look forward to some lower noise pics and improved low-light performance.
