It’s only been just over a week since we heard the name Lumia 1520, but the phablet, previously known by codename Bandit, has just been blowing up in leaks and rumors lately. We saw an early shot of what sure looked like it might be the hardware itself, and then got to check out a screen grab sourced from the phone, detailing how the Windows Phone home screen would look on new 1080p handsets. Today, the 1520 goodness continues, with the first press render of the phone leaking.
We finally get to see the phablet from behind, and it sure reminds of the design used in the Lumia 925. Looking it over, we’re curious about those five little dots up top. That doesn’t really look like how Nokia does rear speakers (nor how they’re placed); could they be contacts for a dock, or a wireless charging cover like the 925 uses? Maybe, but five is too many connections for a simple wireless charging adaptor, and up top is a weird place for a dock interface – we’re not sure quite what to think at the moment.
This leak arrives alongside one other little claim about the 1520, asserting that the phablet should launch sometime this year.
