For months, the Pebble smartwatch has been our go-to recommendation for people interested in checking out such wearable technology, but now it faces new competition in the form of the Galaxy Gear. Issues with differences in feature sets and compatibility has us wondering if maybe there’s a place in the market for both these products, but with the opportunity presented to us by the IFA in Berlin, we felt we should still place these two up against each other and give you a clear look at how they differ.

Are you going to be won over by the Pebble’s ability to be used with many phones, and its extended battery life? Maybe you’re already plugged-in to Samsung’s ecosystem, so the idea of the Galaxy Gear is a little more appealing, especially with its colorful, detailed OLED display and strap-based camera.
