It’s probably not the best day for device announcements, but nobody saw it coming. First, let’s start with the color options: the HTC One flagship and the HTC One Mini are getting a new flavor: ‘Vivid Blue’. HTC claims it’s delivering “a bold new option for those who want a handset that stands out from the crowd”. Images of the two blue flavored Ones below! In addition to the color options, the company also unveiled the HTC BoomBass, a subwoofer which plays nicely with HTC BoomSound “to offer a fully-immersive audio experience like no other”. It connects via Bluetooth.
On to the new devices. The HTC Desire 601 is a mid-range phone (pictured at the top), with a 4.5-inch LCD screen with qHD resolution. It is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 400 dual-core CPU clocked at 1.4GHz, 1GB of RAM, five-megapixel main camera, and features the latest version of HTC Sense with BlinkFeed, plus all the camera features, including HTC Zoe and video highlights. It should land in Europe in September, with three color options (white, black and red), as well as LTE support.
The HTC Desire 300 is an entry-level device (pictured below), with a a 4.3-inch WVGA screen, 1GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor, 512MB of RAM, and a promise of October availability in “select markets”. Storage is 4GB, expandable, and the main shooter is a five-megapixel one.
