Apple has some new iPhones to announce; we’ve been following leaks of the iPhone 5S and 5C going back months now, and rumors have really been pushing for an imminent launch. All that talk has been so laser-focused on the idea of a September 10 Apple event serving as the venue for these announcements, that’s it’s been easy to forget that this date was still very much unofficial. As we start to close in on the tenth, Apple is finally putting an end to any uncertainty, distributing invitations which confirm its plans for a September 10 event.
It’s no big stretch to read Apple’s wishes to “brighten everyone’s day” and all those colorful circles as references to the multi-colored iPhones we’ve been seeing leaked, both the widely varying hues of the iPhone 5C, as well as the subtler new shades for the iPhone 5S, like a possible gold/champagne or gray/graphite option.
The Apple event is set to kick off at 1PM Eastern, just about exactly one week from now. Be sure to check back with us then for news on Apple’s announcements, featuring what we’re sure hoping includes news of the iPhone 5S, iPhone 5C, and of course iOS 7 in general.
