If you’re a Google Android enthusiast, watching keynotes and events, you definitely know Hugo Barra. He is (actually, was) Google’s vice president of product management for Android, the person who recently introduced the 2013 Nexus 7.
Apparently, Hugo Barra is leaving Google for Chinese phone maker, Xiaomi, according to several reports on the interwebs. The information has been confirmed, but the reports mention the possibilities of some personal (romance) reasons. Here’s what a Google spokesperson had to say, aside from the confirmation of Barra’s leaving: “We wish Hugo Barra the best. We’ll miss him at Google and we’re excited that he is staying within the Android ecosystem.”
After Andy Rubin, the creator of Android, Hugo Barra is another key Android personality/face parting ways with Google.
Do you think this will negatively impact on Android’s future?
