Samsung teasing BBM for Android; so where is it, already?

BlackBerry Messenger is coming to iOS and Android; the only question is when. We’re already aware of testing that’s underway, and even saw the BBM app user manuals go live on BlackBerry’s site. Everything points to public availability coming quite soon, but it’s been difficult to elucidate just when. We’re still not quite there, but today brings another development making a launch sound imminent, with Samsung already promoting BBM for Android on Facebook.

You’ll remember that back at the beginning of the month, we heard Samsung and BlackBerry announce plans to promote BBM for Android among Samsung users in Africa. This new promotion is clearly a part of those efforts, showing up on the Facebook page for Samsung Ghana. The company posted the imagery you’ll see up above, showing its existing messaging solutions along with the copy, “another messenger is coming on Samsung phones sooner than you think.” There was also a video produced, but Samsung took it down shortly after it was discovered.

If Samsung’s going to this effort now, it only follows that the software’s public release should be close behind. IFA 2013 is generally a big hardware event, but you never know; could we finally get full details on the BBM Android and iOS launch next week?
