A little more than two years ago, on August 11, 2011, HTC announced a partnership with Beats by Dr. Dre to deliver improved listening experience on select HTC devices. Since then, many phones made by the Taiwanese company have been graced with the Beats Audio branding, both on Android as well as on Windows Phone.

However, according to recent reports and hear-say, Beats Electronics might be preparing to drop HTC. The company is allegedly preparing to buy back HTC remaining stake of 25% stake. On July 21, 2012, Beats bought back 25% from HTC’s 50%, leaving the phone maker with 25%, and the “Dr. Dre” company with 75%, and plans for total buyback.
