The Windows Phone official YouTube app story is well known: on May 6 Microsoft has released a major update to the YouTube app but ten days later Google had some objections and the app was removed on May 22. On May 24, Google and Microsoft announced that they are working closely on a future version which will be approved by Google in all respects.

Fast forward to today and the Windows Phone official YouTube app is back in the Windows Phone store. Instead of having just a shortcut to the mobile site of YouTube, the new app is a full-fledged one, which not only looks great, but also performs well and is feature packed (including uploads).

The description mentions the ability to pin videos, playlists, channels and search queries to the Start screen as Live Tiles, manage your YouTube profile with your unique My YouTube page, manage your playlists, uploads and video lists, find channels, videos and playlists with the quick access search bar with new search suggestions, share videos to social networks, e-mail and text messages, as well as help your kids view age appropriate videos in Kid’s Corner and keep their own profile.
