Yesterday afternoon, we were talking about the Samsung ATIV S Neo, the company’s latest Windows Phone 8 handset, and its first for Sprint. Samsung put a page up for the phone that gave us a more complete look at its specs than ever before, answering some outstanding questions, but we still didn’t have a firm launch date. A leaked roadmap had suggested the ATIV S Neo would arrive this Friday, August 16, but even with that just days away, there was no official confirmation. Apparently Sprint was just holding out a little longer, and today goes ahead and confirms that rumored date.
Just as the carrier revealed when initially launching the ATIV S Neo all the way back in June, the WP8 handset will sell for what works out to about $150 on contract, after factoring in a $50 mail-in rebate. In today’s statement, Sprint also confirms those specs we just got yesterday, like the phone’s 16GB of internal storage (with microSD expansion).
The ATIV S Neo has a 4.8-inch 720p display, 1GB of RAM, a 1.4GHz dual-core SoC, and a removable 2000mAh battery. You’ll be able to find it though all of Sprint’s sales channels – in stores, by phone, or on the web – this Friday.
