LG is doing its darnedest to stay relevant in a fiercely competitive smartphone market, and today in New York City we got the chance to check out its latest effort to do just that, with the launch of the flagship G2.

The long-anticipated Android is the first model we’ve seen that will ship with a Snapdragon 800 under the hood (not counting hardware refreshes like the GS4 LTE-A), but this phone isn’t just about raw specs – LG made a big deal at its presentation this morning to call attention to the very deliberate design process that created the G2, contributing to innovations like its repositioning of all hardware buttons to the handset’s back.

That all sounds great, but talk is cheap: we wanted to get some hands-on time with this phone to see if it really lived up to the hype. Take a look below as we go one-on-one with the latest heavyweight from LG.
