The information we’ve heard in July, according to which Microsoft was about to seriously slash Surface prices, was not a joke. Following the heavy discounts on the Surface RT, the Redmond-based company is now cutting prices for the Surface Pro.
$100 is what you can save now if you want to grab a full-fledged Windows 8-powered Surface. Down from $999, the 128GB model now costs $899; similarly, the 64GB flavor is now priced at $799. There might be multiple reasons for such a move: either Microsoft realized that it was losing too much (as a reminder, it lost about $900 million on Surface RT alone in the past quarter), or, the new, refreshed Surface models are getting closer and closer.
