Apple is still, by and large, the leader of the tablet space. Its tablets far outsell any of the competitors’ and generally turn a higher profit margin for the company. The iPad mini, however, is a different story. Its specifications aren’t … great, and Apple took a hit on profit margins to make the tablet.
Still, the tablet has done quite well, helping Apple dominate the smaller side of the tablet realm, as well.
However, Google and ASUS, who teamed up to make last year’s wildly popular (at least among the tech crowd) Nexus 7, have stepped up their game. Last week, Google announced the new Nexus 7 with greatly improved specifications and the highest-resolution display on a small tablet to date.
