Is Motorola’s Moto X rainbow too limited?

At first glance, the news we got today about all the Moto X customization options sounded pretty good. With the inclusion of wood finishes, as well as confirmation that both phone front and accent options will be selectable in addition to the backplate, we were off to a great start. At least, that’s how we were feeling until we started learning a little more about just what shads Motorola will let you choose from.

Considering all the options we did get, it almost seems petty to complain, but there’s a chance that you might not be able to customize a Moto X in the color scheme you’d like to. The problem is that while Motorola will offer plenty of blues, greens, reds, and purples, there’s nary an orange option to be seen. In light of all the other choices available, that seems a bit odd.

Maybe Motorola’s testing indicated that orange just wouldn’t be as popular as other hues. Maybe – like those wood options – we’ll be getting orange and some other colors that didn’t make the cut in the months to come.

Now’s a good a time as any to ask: with the options depicted above, what kind of custom Moto X look would you choose for yourself?
