Are we ever going to see a full-on Nokia phablet? Rumors keep coming back to the subject, but lately it had seemed like if anything along these lines really would happen, it would be later, rather than sooner – a 2014 launch has been suggested. But then we saw the launch of the Lumia 625, and while it was no phablet, it sure was the largest-screened Nokia Windows Phone handset to date; was this the start of Nokia’s creeping up to phablets? A new leak attempts to give us a preview of what to expect, apparently showing off a phablet-sized front panel for an upcoming Nokia model.
On first inspection, this looks legit enough – there sure is a lot going on up top there, though, but it’s hard to tell what are reflections, spaces for cameras/sensors, or just our eyes playing tricks on us. In any case, as a development handset, it wouldn’t be crazy to expect to see all that cleaned up prior to launch.
As for a size, this is supposedly for a six-inch display, pushing it towards the larger end of the phablet range, even with those very thin-looking bezels.
We’re a wash for any additional info on the handset this panel belongs to, but given the size, could this arrive as one of the first WP8 1080p models?
