New Nexus 7 unboxed before the official event, benchmarked too

The official Google event, where we’re expecting the new Nexus 7 to be unveiled — among other things — is going to happen today, at Noon EDT. Of course, we’ll be all over that with our, by now usual, live first impressions, but some lucky folks already managed to get their hands on what appears to be the full-retail Google Nexus slate.

Apparently, the leaked renders we’ve seen seem to match up perfectly with the device pictured above, and below. The device, codenamed “Razor”, was also benchmarked and the apps used to test its performance unveiled its full list of specs: Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro CPU clocked at 1.5GHz, 2GB of RAM, seven-inch screen with 1920×1200 resolution.
