For all its limitations, Instagram appears poised to remain an unstoppable force in social media. As of last month, the Facebook-owned service boasts over 16 billion photos shared, a brand new video-sharing feature that’s spanking the competition, and over 130 million monthly active users.
Well, make that 130 million and one. Because we’ve just joined the Instagram universe under the venerable (if predictable) title: “Pocketnow.”
Now, many Pocketnow team members also have personal Instagram accounts which many of you already follow – and we thank you for that. But following those, you’ve got to put up with Jaime Rivera’s sneaker closeups, Taylor Martin’s car fetish, and weird underwater photos of Michael Fisher’s distorted face. Following the official Pocketnow account will bring you more of the mobile technology lust objects you crave: artsy closeups of smartphone speakers, tastefully cropped snaps of tablet buttons, and … well, there’s still some weird underwater photos of Michael Fisher’s distorted face on there. Thanks a lot, Galaxy S 4 Active.
So if you already follow us on Facebook, Google Plus, and Twitter, already contribute regularly to the Forums at Pocketnow, and you already tune in to the Pocketnow Weekly podcast, Pocketnow Daily recap, Pocketnow Live broadcast, Pocketnow VIP interview, and the Pocketnow U-Review hangout … well, first of all, thank you. You’re a champ. Second of all, there’s now another corner of the internet you can find our faces.
So do it! Follow us at instagram.com/pocketnow, add #Pocketnow to your Instagram hashtags, and toss us some comments letting us know what you’d like to see on our feed. Whether it’s devices, offices, or more bizarre underwater captures, as long as it’s related to mobile technology or Pocketnow, we’ll do our best to accommodate you.
See you on the ‘gram!
