A couple days back we told you about Samsung model GT-I9506, apparently a Galaxy S 4-series handset that appeared to be in development and which benchmark results suggested might be powered by a Snapdragon 800 SoC, just like the GS4 LTE-A Samsung recently launched in South Korea. We heard some theories that GT-I9506 might still be constrained to certain markets – Russia was mentioned, specifically – but today some new signs point to a much broader launch for this hardware.
First, we get some more detailed system info. There’s that tell-tale Adreno 330 GPU, but the 800’s presence is also spelled out much more directly: MSM 8974 . While this leak came out of Germany, we’ve also heard of evidence revealing GT-I9506 testing place in France, Italy, Spain, and the UK. That Europe-wide presence sure has us feeling more confident that we might actually see this phone arrive with decent availability.
An IFA launch for this hardware refresh might be possible, but considering how quickly Samsung got the GS4 LTE-A out to South Korea, we very well might see this hardware launch well in advance of the expo.
