Lumia 521 price hits new low: on sale for $100, no contract

Nokia’s Lumia 521 (and its sister the 520) may not wow us with blistering performance, super-thin hardware, or one hulk of a powerful camera, but we’re endlessly fascinated by just how inexpensive this phone continues to be. Even at $150, it was one of the best launch prices we had ever seen for an off-contract smartphone from a respected manufacturer. We’ve already seen discounts shave away at that $150, like how Walmart had it for just $130, but this new price is the best we’ve run across yet: HSN has the 521 on sale for a hair under $100.

You might remember that HSN was also involved with the 521 launch, where it offered a bonus car charger with purchase. What’s nice is that the car charger is still present at this price, and HSN throws in free shipping, to boot.

Maybe $150 was too steep an entry fee to tempt a first-timer into checking out Windows Phone 8 – if $100 won’t tempt you, we’re not sure what will. If, however, you are interested in checking out this deal, act quickly; this deal reportedly expires at midnight on Saturday.

You may be able to get another $20 knocked-off as a new customer using coupon code 135235, but we’ve heard mixed reports of success.
