“Making your way in the world today takes everything you got,” a famous singer once crooned. “Taking a break from all your worries sure would help a lot.”
There’s more to the song, but the meat of the story is that “sometimes you wanna go where everybody knows your name.” And in this case, it’s not a Boston-area bar run by a washed-up Red Sox pitcher; it’s an internet forum run by a team of writers at the top of their game, and (soon to be) populated by some of the smartest, hippest, coolest readers in mobile technology. In case you missed the blatant appeal to your egos, that’s you!
Introducing the Forums at Pocketnow: an old-school-style message board meant to let all of you interact with all of us.
We know, we know: it’s kind of a weird idea to launch a forum in 2013, considering the age of the message-board concept. But ours is not meant to replace the existing array of mobile-tech internet forums, many of which are awesome (not to mention huge). Rather, the Pocketnow Forums are meant as a breeding ground for the friendships between our readers, which we noticed taking shape in the early days of the Pocketnow Live hangout series that’s currently on summer hiatus. The Forums are a place for old friends to catch up, for new friends to meet, and for readers and editors to trade thoughts, debate points, and share experiences – all of it through the lens of today’s mobile technology.
We’re not setting out to break any records, and we’re not trying to be the next XDA-Developers. What we are saying is that there’s now a new place for trading talk with Pocketnow readers and writers besides the Pocketnow Live, Pocketnow Weekly, Pocketnow Daily, and the Pocketnow U-Review: and that place is the Pocketnow Forums.
You’ll find all that and more, already percolating in the Pocketnow Forums thanks to our lovely band of beta testers. That means the discussion is already underway! Join us, won’t you?
