You knew this was going to happen. The launch of the Nokia 808 PureView back in 2012 was just the tip of the iceberg in the company’s future plans for smartphone camera dominance. This day and age, it’s all about our photos, sharing, and making social statements with them, and Nokia is one of the few companies that gets that right. Regardless of whether it’s a photo of the cat or our favorite building, the 808 PureView wasn’t really about the 41 Megapixels, but instead, of your ability to have lossless-digital zoom capabilities on the photographs. We’ve spent a year and a half imagining this technology reach Windows Phone, and the time has come.
Nokia’s Zoom Reinvented event happens tomorrow, July 11th at 11:00AM EST in New York City and we’d love for you to join us in our usual Round Table where we discuss everything that’s happening as things get announced in the event. Our own Adam Lein will also be at the event to bring us all the hands-on video coverage that you’ve been waiting to see.
We all know this is Nokia’s big break. It’ll determine the company’s future, and also the future of camera technology in the mobile industry. We’re still debating if this is all about a Nokia Lumia 1020, a Lumia 909, or both, and we’re sure you are too.
Make sure you don’t miss any details of everything that gets announced. Simply circle back to this post tomorrow as we’ll update it with our live stream. Just keep in mind that this will be a closed Hang-out to allow us to provide you with all the details of everything that’s happening. Please share your questions or impressions in the comments as we go along and we’ll do our best to go through them during the show.
