About a month ago, Verizon finally broke silence on the whole HTC One thing, and confirmed that it would finally join all the other major carriers in sales of the smartphone at a later date. All Verizon was willing to offer is that the phone would arrive before summer’s out; unfortunately, that still gives the potential for months and months of waiting. As we stick it out, the first direct evidence of this Verizon HTC One may just have leaked, and this press render might help us narrow down when to expect sales of the phone to begin.
On first glance, that may be one of the least Verizon-looking Verizon phones around – there’s not a trace of the carrier’s logo around front. In fact, the only real indicator we see to paint this as the Verizon One is the carrier’s distinctive LTE logo in the phone’s status bar.
What about that launch hint? Check out the date on the phone’s calendar up there: September 5. That’s certainly “sometime this summer,” and lacking any more convincing evidence, it’s looking like the most likely candidate for when Verizon could make the One available. Still, we’ve got to wonder: is it really in Verizon’s benefit to be waiting quite so long? Will the One still be hot by then?
