The iPad is due for a refresh soon and some alleged leaked iPad 5 schematics unveil a thinner case. We’ve speculated in the past that the new iPad will most probably borrow the looks of the iPad mini. Today’s leaked iPad 5 schematics, if legit, seem to confirm just that.
About the only dimension that can be seen on the drawing is the thickness: 7.9mm. However, this figure does not include the screen, so the final product could be somewhat thicker. Depending on the measurements of the screen and glass itself, it will either be somewhat thinner than the current iPad, or, at least, at the same measurement.
However, Nowhereelse, who published the drawing, tried to calculate, deduct, predict, and speculate on the other dimensions. They compared these drawing to previous model schematics and estimate that the iPad 5 might measure 232mm x 178.5mm (compared to 241.3mm x 185.8mm on the iPad 4).
