Possible Windows Phone Instagram launch date suggested

What’s the deal with Instagram on Windows Phone? We’ve been hoping to see this app arrive for what feels like ages, and while we’ve seen the arrival of some workable substitutes, we’d really love to avoid yet another off-brand WP app experience and have a full-on, official solution. Nokia’s been busy campaigning with its #2InstaWithLove app, and today we get word that a proper Instagram client could actually soon be on its way to the platform, with rumors suggesting a launch this month.

The details are a little unclear, but the release date is supposed to fall on a Wednesday in June, with three weeks from now, on June 26, suggested as possibly the most likely candidate. If this report is correct, all of Nokia’s cheerleading may have paid off for the company, and it could see itself (and its Lumia phones) get an exclusive for at least the initial release of this Instagram app.

We don’t have an abundance of faith in a vague rumor like this, especially not knowing more about the source, but we’ll be keeping our eyes open later this month to learn if anything actually comes of this.
