We’ve been teased for the last couple of weeks with a unique Windows Phone 8 update that Nokia will bring to their Lumia line-up with the idea of bringing additional features to both new, and even existing Lumia hardware. Alongside with the announcement of the Nokia Lumia 925, the company has also announced that their “Nokia Amber” update should reach all current Nokia Lumia handsets in July as part of their GDR2 update to Windows Phone 8.
Among the features, this update brings FM radio support to ever Lumia except for the 620, which doesn’t include the hardware capabilities for FM Radio. Other features improve some camera improvements on the software side as well, since Nokia will apparently also include the Smart Camera app that was shown for the Lumia 925 to older Lumia models. Aside from that, we noticed that the Nokia Lumia 925 allows a double tap to wake function that we understand will also be pushed to the Lumia 920 and 820, as we also discovered in some leaked videos a couple of weeks ago.
We’ll keep you posted on any other features that we discover for this future Windows Phone 8 update in July.
