Mystery LG Smartphone Returns On-Camera

Last week an image of an unknown LG smartphone surfaced, apparently an Android model under development. There wasn’t much to see other than a sleek design and thin bezel, leaving us wondering if it might just be the Optimus G II, if not a new Nexus model. Today, we get another glimpse at the handset as we continue to wonder about how it will arrive.

With the screen turned off, it’s harder to appreciate the thin bezel on this mystery LG Android this time around, but at least we get to check out the phone from a slightly different angel.

The one big development that’s occurred since we had that first pic of this handset to check out is that LG has revealed plans for a May 30 smartphone event. We had been wondering if that might be a regional launch of some hardware that’s already been revealed, due to the Chinese venue LG chose, but it’s not entirely out of the realm of consideration that the manufacturer could have all-new gear to debut. If that’s indeed the case, this could very well be the G II, even if we had been expecting it to land a few months out at the IFA in Berlin.

Update: evleaks mentions that “circumstantial evidence points to G2.”
