Unless our crystal ball has been giving out some seriously wrong readings, it sure feels like Nokia’s next smartphone to launch will be the Lumia 928 for Verizon. As if all the leaked renders weren’t enough, the handset may just have been spotted in the flesh at a Nokia party last week. With a press event scheduled for May 14, we’ve been wondering if it isn’t just about time for the 928 to finally step out into the spotlight. Today we get one more sign of its impending launch, with the discovery of an early Lumia 928 billboard.
According to the Nokia fan who snapped the pic, this ad was up in North Oakland, CA, just a few days ago. Since then, someone seems to have realized that it was running a little prematurely, and the ad has been replaced with one for HTC, but luckily not before this image was recorded for posterity.
So, what do you think? Is the 928 going to star at Nokia’s May 14 London event, or will we learn of a separate American launch for what’s been shaping up to be Verizon’s next big Windows Phone model? Was this Lumia 928 ad early by a matter or days, or more like weeks?
