Earlier this week, AT&T started accepting pre-orders for Samsung’s Galaxy S 4, with the understanding that phones would start shipping on April 30. While AT&T got an early start to taking those pre-orders, when T-Mobile and Sprint joined in on the action, we learned that their customers would be getting their GS4s even earlier, on April 24 and April 27, respectively. Maybe that’s given AT&T cause to reconsider its own launch, as it’s now reporting that GS4 pre-orders will ship considerably earlier.
Instead of April 30, AT&T now indicates that its Galaxy S 4 will ship a full week earlier, on April 23. Nothing else seems to have changed, and the carrier hasn’t attempted to explain this new date, but we’re not about to complain.
If you already pre-ordered your GS4 from AT&T you might want to follow up with the carrier to see if you can’t confirm that it will be arriving early, along with all new pre-orders made from here on out.
Update: And now it’s back to April 30. What are you up to, AT&T?
