Pebble Releases Its Smartwatch SDK

A number of us here at Pocketnow are big fans of the Pebble smartwatch, and while we’ve shared some pretty neat things you can do with the device, anything really cool has been a little “hacky” so far. When putting together a list of things we were hoping to see from the Pebble, a big one was the presence of a solid selection of apps – for as nice as it is, it would be a lot better if it could just do more. Luckily for us, and all you other Pebble enthusiasts out there, apps should be on their way, with the company today releasing the Pebble SDK.

In the coming weeks and months, we hope to start seeing developers release their new projects for the Pebble, including both apps and alternate watchfaces. To get them started, Pebble has created a bunch of demos and released the documentation interested developers will need.

We don’t know what the future is going to hold for Pebble, but with the tools now out there, we’re well excited to see what the community is able to dream up.
