Today is historic for many people at T-Mobile. It’s been almost six years since the first generation iPhone has launched, newer devices have already seen the light of day in regional carriers, and it’s not until today that the fourth largest carrier in the US gets their own.
Starting today, the iPhone 5 is ready for pre-order on T-Mobile, and it’ll be available either at your doorstep or nearest storefront on April 12th. The iPhone 5 launches on T-Mobile as one of their first LTE devices, joined by the Galaxy Note II and BlackBerry Z10, and later by the Galaxy S 4 and HTC One. All three models are available for pre-order, being the 16, 32 and 64GB variants in both colors.
Very important to note is that the pricing plans for the iPhone only work if you get one of the new “Simple Choice” value plans, which leave the 16GB model for $99, $32GB model for $199 and $64GB model for $299. Each then follow $20-a-month payments for 24 months, which actually ends-up being a couple of bucks cheaper than if you bought the carrier unlocked model, which is something weird to see on a financed device.
