There’s a ton of speculation regarding Facebook’s April 4th event, and WSJ was quick to lead some of these to merely some additional integration for HTC’s BlinkFeed that some of us were already quick to hate. Now, more rumors have emerged from one of our trusted sources, and everything points to the even being something larger than just that. And think about it, with the fact that you can already get Facebook updates on HTC’s service, it makes no sense for Facebook to hold an event that’s focused on bringing you news on something you already have.
First we did see that the press invitations specified that Facebook wants us to see their new Home on Android. Now a new tweet from @evleaks mentions that “The version of Facebook for Android currently on this device needs to be upgraded to support Facebook Home.”
So yes, for those of you that were expecting a Facebook phone, well, things don’t seem as real or ready as you thought. And for those of you that want an enhanced experience with Facebook, it does seem as if we will be getting just that. Stay tuned for the news as we cover the event on April 4th.
