Are you a fan of the bold colors and deep blacks offered by AMOLED displays? You’re not alone, and we were excited to hear a rumor last week that Samsung was planning on introducing a tablet with one of the biggest AMOLED screens we’ve heard of on a mobile device, possibly either a 10.1-inch or 11.6-inch component. That claim suggested that this tablet could debut at the IFA this summer, but now a new rumor says that delays have reared their ugly head, and Samsung’s elected to go in a different direction.
According to this source, that big AMOLED tablet has been delayed, but instead Samsung could premiere another full HD 1080p AMOLED tablet at the IFA, though now one with an 8.0-inch screen. That would still make it the largest such AMOLED from Samsung to date, beating-out the old Galaxy Tab 7.7.
Additionally, Samsung could have its own tablet with a screen like the one on the Nexus 10, which it makes for Google. That means a 2560 x 1600 resolution, and though size hasn’t been confirmed, we wouldn’t be surprised to see it match the Nexus 10′s just-over-ten-inches. Obviously, this time we’re talking about a traditional LCD.
