Some pretty convincing photographs showed up last week, apparently showing off the Samsung Galaxy S 4 Mini. We had already heard rumors that it might go up for sale around the same time as the GS4 proper, but it failed to show at the GS4 launch event. That’s left us wondering what Samsung’s plans might be for the phone, but a new Samsung piece in Bloomberg Businessweek sure has us thinking that plans are still a go for the Android.
Mentioned quite casually near the end of a much longer piece on Samsung’s rise to become a global smartphone leader, we’re told, “[the Galaxy S 4 is] fast, has a big, bright screen, and will probably be another huge hit for Samsung, as will the S 4 mini that will go on sale soon after.”
In a respected journal like this, facts don’t get thrown around without being attributable, so we have to assume that Bloomberg Businessweek has these GS4 Mini plans on good authority from Samsung itself. Rumors we’ve heard about a launch anywhere from May to July seem to generally fit with this same schedule reported here.
Of course, this still leaves open some questions about the phone’s hardware, but there will be time to learn more about that in the coming weeks.
