If all the rumors about a new iPhone arriving this summer – now just a few months away – are true, you can expect to see an influx of leaks over the next several weeks. After all, the time leading up to last year’s launch of the iPhone 5 were a veritable feeding frenzy of pictures of leaked components. It doesn’t seem like Apple’s used the time since then to better secure its manufacturing chain any, as we’ve got some new pics today that could be of the iPhone 5S.
We’ve got a home button assembly, along with a new vibrating motor. It’s clear from comparisons to iPhone 5 parts that we’re looking at new parts here; the only question is if these will actually make it into the 5S as rumored.
While these don’t really show that much, there is the possibility that this find disproves a previous iPhone 5S rumor. You might remember claims we examined earlier this month that the smartphone might feature a fingerprint scanner. There had been some suggestion that such a thing could be integrated into the handset’s home button, but from the looks of things here, this is just a regular old scanner-less switch. Maybe it could be elsewhere on the phone, or maybe this rumor is dead in the water.
